Everyone gets down in the dumps. At times, we can all feel like we’ve been tossed to the curb and run over by a tractor trailer. How can you get through the doldrums more quickly? Here is a checklist to feeling beautiful. What a great place to start!
15-20 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity will release endorphins that, even if they don’t put a smile on your face, will make you FEEL better.
2. Get some sun!
Slap on some sunscreen and go outside. Take a walk, go for a swim, ride your bike, or just relax and read a book. The sunlight helps your body to naturally make vitamin D, which will boost your immune system, help you to maintain a healthy body weight, and strengthen your bones.
3. Take some “me” time.
The stress of work or family life can run us all into the ground sometime. Taking some “me” time is a great way to recharge your batteries. Just 30 minutes of dedicated time to yourself can work wonders. Take a nap, read a magazine, heck, color in a coloring book. Think of any way you can shut out the world for 30 minutes with NO interruptions and that is a ticket to happy town.
4. Get dressed up.
You don’t need a reason. Looking sharp is a great avenue to feeling beautiful. Find that dress or suit that you know you knock ’em dead in and give it a whirl. Go grab a bite to eat, or catch a show. All eyes will be on you, but in a good way!
5. Be silly. Laugh at yourself.
People who laugh more live longer, have a healthier outlook on life, have less stress, are great problem solvers, and tend to feel better about themselves. Life gives you plenty of opportunities to chuckle, so take advantage of them.
